NYS Capital District Dec. 6, 2004 Snowfall
automated snowfall sensors
were placed at different location in the NYS Capital District. They recorded the
temperature, solar radiation, and the snow level.
Raw Sensor Data
* note that sensor s5600000032B8C926 had it's snowboard wiped at 17:50.
Photographs taken every 15 minutes
The sensor recorded 0.9827 volts (2.7 inches) at 15:24.
Because the sensor was calibrated at room
temperature, there is a temperature bias. Correcting for the bias of 0.2945VDC
gives a snow level of 3 inches.
Manual measurements ranged from 3 to 3.25 inches.
